HEAVY 2-sided plate -  One side laps the Other side hones. U.S. made in Fort Lauderdale.
Lapping and Honing plate 1018 steel Flip-It” Plate. Made in Florida Approx. 5 7/8” x 2 1/4” x  1 1/2” THICK. About 5 1/4 lbs.
Each major side has a function - Lap or Hone, one with divots the other smooth. Easily moveable EDC and carry. Grooved sides for handling. Both sides were manually fly cut, then faces manually surface ground flat to .0005”” flat deviation (at an off-0-degree with a finish not glass mirror-like but a touch of tooth to permit micro capture of grit). The lapping divot side was then post-grind manually lapped for a slightly finer flat surface.
Lap side is divoted. Hone side is smooth. But either side can be used to hone.

For EDC easy travel, machinist items (lapping flats), gunsmiths or knifemakers (honing and lapping - for flats or for edges), chisels (honing for chisel edge portions) woodworkers, luthiers, jewelers, craft work to help lap your items, for flat items to flatten them even flatter than surface grinding, used with abrasive paste compounds, or powder in slurry or for Honing to refine your edges. Please don’t expect aerospace quality, this is functional and great value. Slight surface discolor on one end, ends are not used, just faces.
Each of my newest plates here has the most minor of inclusion such as a small hairline or peck, but nothing to affect lapping or honing since they're sub surface.

lapping compounds (non-embed) from ws2coating.com.  Check ebay Amazon and McMaster-Carr, as well. Warning, if you're looking at my honing plates to choose to use 3M Microfinish strips to glue-adhesive attach to the honing plate, many sold online are counterfeit. Buy from a quality supplier only.
