US BREAST PLATE
This is the smaller type breast plate (2.25 inch diameter) known to collectors as the "Burnside" eagle. Experts believe these were issued to Maine Militia (Burnside's 9th Army). Besides the smaller size a fish hook is gripped in the eagle's talon. Excellent condition. Full lead on reverse and both iron loops are present. Except for the a small edge dent, a nice condition for a dug Burnside.
Celebrating 21 years (start 1/2000) with eBay. Just a one man operation with a couple new items per week..
