These are custom-made
red
transparent plastic filters for your flashlight. Similar to my ordinary heavy duty laser-cut filters,
but only about a third of the thickness for a
brighter red light
. I have had a few customer requests for a brighter red light, probably for hunting and/or security applications, so this filter should fill that gap. Originally designed for my astronomy students, I am now making them available to the public.

flashlight.
As always, it's a good idea to measure your own flashlight lens/ bezel diameter before ordering, as some flashlight models are knock-offs and may have different specs. You can always cut or file down the filter edge to insure a proper fit in your own particular flashlight; it's a bit more difficult to make a smaller filter into a larger one!

color preserves night vision so critical to astronomers in the field and at the telescope.
Please note that this brand new plastic material
is only about 1/3 of the thickness of my ordinary heavy duty red filters, and as a result, flashlights using these filters will give a
brighter red light
. Thinner stock means I don't have to use a laser to cut these, so you save on cost! Limited quantity available (for heavy duty applications, I would still recommend the thicker filters- please see my other listing @ 3.99).
Other sizes for popular brands (ie: Streamlight, Bushnell, Ozark Trail, Ray O Vac, etc.) can be made on request. Let me know what size you need, and I will send you a price quotation. Please keep in mind that larger size filters usually will cost more, since there is a larger surface area, and therefore require more material and time to make for you.
Red filters are highly recommended if you are serious about observational astronomy. You don't want to ruin your night vision by using a white flashlight! Don't be unprepared and embarrassed at star parties or other observing events, by being the only one without a red flashlight!
Also recommended for other specialists who usually work in low-light conditions, including pilots, law enforcement professionals, security, and special operations personnel who need to preserve their night vision. These filters are a nice, low-cost alternative to high-priced and hard-to-find red led flashlights!  A must-have for astronomers and observatory personnel! Perfect for astronomy clubs!
