Pair of gorgeous vintage Fostoria Elegant Glass Candlesticks Taper Candle Holders in the Colony Pattern from the 1930s-1950s. Candlesticks have a swirl base, fluted stems with pressed glass made to look like cut glass, removable underplates with holes for 12 prisms to hang from with faux cut glass on the undersides that really catch the light and sparkle, and elaborate candle holder tops with the same faux cut glass cross hatching pattern and flared scalloped edging. The tops screw into threaded silver metal collars, allowing for the optional removal of the underplates.
Each measures 10" tall, 5.25" in diameter at the base, and 4.5" in diameter across the underplates.
In excellent pre-owned vintage condition. No chips or cracks on any of the pieces. Has a couple of minor surface scratches, consistent with age and use. Missing the prisms that originally hung from the middle underplates, but are beautiful even without them.  Clear, brilliant glass, not yellowed or purpled. I have polished up the silver collars in the middles. See photos for details.
Each candlestick weighs just under 2 pounds before packaging.
