    Description

PREWAR LIONEL 1666 STEAM LOCOMOTIVE & 1689W WHISTLE TENDER
    LOT DESCRIPTION:
As the title says this lot consists of a PREWAR  Lionel 1666, 2-6-2, Die Cast Steam Locomotive with the 1689 W tender that was made in 1938. The locomotive has a operating headlight, full compliment of drive rods and a three position e-unit and the tender has  a whistle and a latch type coupler. Both pieces are all original Lionel including all original paint with no paint touchups.
    DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION:
The locomotive and tender are both in great shape. The loco casting is perfect, no breaks, cracks or chips. Both classification lights (often broken off) are fine as are the front cowcatcher steps. No rust or missing parts, great color, numbers nice and clear.  Some minor rubs here and there.  The tender looks really great, no rust or dents, lettering crisp and clear, no cracks, breaks or chips, trucks and coupler are fine .   Hardly a mark on the tender.  Again, a great looking set that IMHO I would rate as in C-7 excellent condition but look at the pictures and you be the judge for each picture is an important part of the description and say much more than my words ever can.
    WORKING CONDITION:
I have cleaned lubed and tested the locomotive and it runs and reverses just fine , e-unit too cycles fine. The whistle on the tender also works, no operational issues here at all.
    COMMENTS & QUESTIONS:
If there is a problem, regardless of type, e-mail me and I will try and resolve it with you. I am both a TCA Member and LCCA Member and I do my best to describe each item accurately and my feedback indicates I usually succeed. I usually leave feedback once every 7 to 10 days and only after I have received feedback. You will ALWAYS be bidding on the actual item shown in my pictures. LOOK AT THE PICTURES, READ THE DESCRIPTIONS. You are NOT bidding on what you think the item should be or what you would like it to be you are bidding on exactly what you see in the pictures. Leaving negative feedbacks without first trying to resolve the issue is not to neither of our benefits.
Again, take a good look at all the pictures (they describe the lot better than my words can) to see exactly what you are bidding on and judge the condition of the item for yourself. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions on this item especially as it relates to it’s condition. Ask now, not after you have won the item!
As is the case for almost all my auctions this lot is offered to you WITH NO RESERVE!
